North Carolina is full of beautiful scenery, fun attractions, exciting destinations and unique offerings that sets its apart from other states. However, some popular tourist spots may not be as great as you thought.
According to a list compiled by Far & Wide, the "most boring tourist trap" in all of North Carolina is the Land of Oz theme park, an attraction in Beech Mountain modeled after the beloved classic film The Wizard of Oz. Of course, every person's experience will be different and while one visitor may be less than thrilled with the destination, another may find their new favorite attraction, so it is perhaps best to visit for yourself and come up with your own conclusion!
Here's what Far & Wide had to say about the attraction:
"The Wizard of Oz is a timeless children's classic. Alas, the same cannot be said of this amusement park, which primarily touts a faux Yellow Brick Road that, as one critic put it, has 'faded to a jaundiced hue.' In its prime this park was a huge draw, but that was decades ago, and it's never fully recovered from a 1980 fire that did significant damage. Now it's reopened a few times a year and is mostly a vandal's playground."
