Republican Congressman Jim Baird from Indiana's 4th Congressional District has been hospitalized following a car accident, as reported by Fox News. Baird is currently responsive and in stable condition. His wife was also injured in the crash and taken the hospital.

“They’re going to be OK, but they had a pretty bad accident,” President Donald Trump said while addressing Republican lawmakers at a House GOP legislative retreat.

Details surrounding the accident remain unclear at this time. Baird, who has served in Congress since 2019, previously held positions as a member of the Indiana House of Representatives from 2010 to 2018 and as a Putnam County commissioner from 2006 to 2010.
