Honda is recalling approximately 780,000 vehicles in North America due to concerns over a potential fire risk. The recall includes 720,000 vehicles in the United States and about 61,000 in Canada. The issue lies with a high-pressure fuel pump that may crack and leak fuel, increasing the risk of a fire if an ignition source is present. The recall includes Honda Accords, Honda CR-V Hybrids, and Honda Civics from model years 2023 through 2025.

Honda has received 145 warranty claims related to this issue, but there have been no reports of injuries. The company confirmed the presence of a fuel leak and an odor in September and subsequently halted the shipment of the affected vehicles.

The automaker said that dealers will inspect and replace the high-pressure fuel pump, if necessary, with an improved part. Honda has not yet announced a schedule for the recall but will notify owners of affected vehicles.

You can check to see if your car is under recall by going to nhtsa.gov/recalls and entering your 17-digit vehicle identification number.
