Former President Donald Trump has a sizable advantage over Vice President Kamala Harris in betting odds leading up to Election Day and an expert revealed why.

Trump is reported to have a 60.3% to 39.1% advantage in odds of winning the U.S. presidency in 2024, according to ElectionBettingOdds.com, a website run by veteran journalist John Stossel and his executive producer Maxim Lott. Lott told FOX News that "more than two billion dollars have been bet on the election already" and claims the bets are "more accurate than just trying to look at polls," adding that Trump's advantage comes amid a perceived end of the "honeymoon period" Harris had when she was elevated as the Democrat nominee following President Joe Biden's decision to end his re-election campaign.

“Things have kind of reverted back to the mean where – it is a tough cycle for Democrats with things like inflation and immigration, and so maybe for a couple months people were like, ‘Oh, Harris, this is interesting, this is new, this is refreshing,’ and then it’s kind of sinking in: ‘This is the same administration we didn’t like with Biden,” Lott said.

Trump was previously reported to have 70% odds when facing Biden, which had dropped significantly upon Biden's announcement, but have since risen again.
