Six months after the fatal shooting death of a woman at a furniture plant in North Carolina, police have two suspects in custody.
Married couple Tangela and Eric Parker were wanted in connection to the January 13 death of Phelifia Marlow in Hickory but had managed to evade custody for months. After police received tips about their location, the Hickory Police Department confirmed that U.S. Marshals arrested the Parkers in Phoenix, Arizona, on Tuesday afternoon (July 13), WCNC reports.
Marlow, 51, was fatally wounded after Tangela Parker reportedly shot her during a dispute inside TCS Designs. She was taken to a hospital but later died from her injuries. Eric Parker is said to have driven his wife away from the scene, leading to a months-long search for the Alexander County couple.
At the time, authorities did not know where the couple had escaped, but believed they could have been hiding in the Smoky Mountains. The U.S. Marshals even offered a reward up to $10,000 for information that led to the Parkers arrest.
Tangela Parker was wanted for first degree murder, while Eric Parkers was wanted for being an accessory after the fact.
As of 5 p.m. Tuesday, no additional information has been released.
