Michael Strengthens to a Category 2; What to Expect Across the Carolinas

GREENSBORO, NC -- Hurricane Michael is now a Category 2 hurricane as it continues to move toward the Gulf Coast of the United States. The storm is expected to bring life-threatening storm surge and heavy rain to the panhandle of Florida upon landfall as a major hurricane Wednesday.

Thankfully, Michael will be nothing like Florence for the Carolinas, but it will still bring wind and rain. The WFMY News 2 Weather Team is tracking the storm that will hit us on Thursday.
