Governor Cooper has issued a mandatory evacuation order for vulnerable coastal North Carolina areas. The order applies to barrier islands along the entire coast, from the Virginia line to the South Carolina line. The order goes into effect Wednesday at 8 a.m.
North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper said the state has activated 300 members of the National Guard and its state emergency operations center is fully operational.
