Jeff Sessions: DOJ Launches "Places To Worship Initiative"

The Justice Department says it plans to bring civil rights lawsuits against municipalities that discriminate against houses of worship.  Attorney General Jeff Sessions made the announcement at a meeting of religious advocates in Washington Wednesday.

Sessions said, "the cultural climate has become less hospitable to people of faith," and claimed many Americans feel their freedom to practice their faith has been under attack.  The new "Places to Worship Initiative" would bring more cases against towns and other municipalities that use zoning laws to block churches, mosques and synagogues from building, renting or expanding houses of worship.
