Guilford County Declares a State of Emergency as Hurricane Florence Closes

GREENSBORO, N.C.-- Early Wednesday morning, Guilford County Officials declared a State of Emergency. The declaration will start at noon.

With Hurricane Florence is projected to bring significant rainfall and tropical storm force winds for Guilford County and surrounding areas, declaring a state of emergency allows local government Emergency Planners to activate pre-staging and safety protocols for the major inclement weather event.

It is important for our residents to take this storm seriously and take all necessary precautions”, said Alan Branson, Chairman of the Guilford County Board of Commissioners.
