NC Senate Leader Phil Berger Compares Silent Sam Protesters To 'Violent Mob

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WFMY) -- North Carolina Senate Leader Phil Berger (R-Rockingham) responded Tuesday to "Silent Sam" being knocked down at UNC-Chapel Hill Monday night, comparing those who helped bring down the statue to "violent mobs."

In the statement, Berger said Gov. Roy Cooper and other politicians must stop labeling violent riots as "rallies." Berger also said the protesters' actions won't heal racial injustice.
