Protests broke out during a Monday hearing on Republicans' latest efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare, reportedly leading to multiple arrests.
Some demonstrators gathered ahead of the 2:00 p.m. ET hearing as early as 5:00 a.m., filling the halls of a Senate office building. The hearing was suspended until protests stopped.
Protesters shouted: “No cuts to Medicaid, save our liberty!” Video has also emerged showing Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) waiting while protesters shouted before the hearing could start:
Protesters were also reportedly being arrested and taken out of the hearing room:
Monday's hearing is the only one set for the Republicans' last-ditch effort to make good on the promise of repealing and replacing former President Barack Obama's signature health care bill.
